Food TV icon Rachael Ray is continuing to open up to fans on her new podcast, I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead. Weeks after she shared her controversial key to a “healthy” marriage (spoiler alert: it’s lots of yelling), Ray offered another intimate glimpse into her personal life.

While speaking with celebrity trainer Bob Harper, the 56-year-old touched on the pros and cons of being child-free. She admitted that her decision to not have children wasn’t taken lightly by some people and she was “bashed” for years over her choice.

“I chose to never have children. God love all the people that have kids,” Harper admitted during his appearance on the podcast, People reports.

“Me too! And boy, did I get bashed for it over the decades,” Ray chimed in.

For both Ray and Harper, they’ve found unconditional love in other ways, namely through their pets.

“What my dogs teach me on a daily basis is that unconditional love,” said Harper.

“For me, if I have the absolute worst day, or I’m sick as a dog—as the expression goes—the thing that makes me feel best is to go home and literally climb into bed under a blanket with my dog,” Ray added.

In other episodes of the podcast, Ray has thanked her husband, John Cusimano, for all of his support. She said that in their marriage, they both need their space, but she still considers herself “wildly, wildly, wildly lucky.”

Following last month’s debut of I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead, Ray has gone on to interview several fellow celebs for her podcast, including Chef Jacques Pépin, actor Billy Crudup, and author/podcaster Jenny Mollen.
