Taylor Swift took a tumble in England this past week. And before you get too worried, no, the singer herself didn’t have an accident during one of her Eras Tour shows. Instead, a Taylor-shaped caked was injured Friday.
The BBC reports that a life-sized Taylor Swift cake created by Elza Baldzhiyska had to be withdrawn from the Cake International competition in Birmingham, England, because it was badly damaged while being transported.
In what could be considered nightmare fuel for some, a video shows Baldzhiyska attempting to mold the hands for the cake while the hand-less Taylor Swift cake hovers menacingly over her. But according to reports, the edible hands were not damaged during transit and were always meant to be added last.
It appears that the real damage was done to the body of the cake. In the video, you can see that the body is bent in a way that makes Cake Taylor look like she’s shaken it off one too many times and her ankles have simply tapped out.
Despite having to withdraw from the competition, Baldzhiyska didn’t seem to be too upset at how events unfolded. In a lighthearted Facebook post, the cake artist detailed what exactly happened and why she’ll now be much more careful about transporting her pieces.
“I had foreseen everything! But I didn’t predict that he would drive like crazy…In the back there was a metal pipe for suppression, which after 30 minutes of driving was distorted,” she wrote.
Well, we’re sure the cake version of Taylor Swift tasted delicious!
