What happens when you combine a highly anticipated movie with the cult-following of Stanley cups? A bit of mayhem.

Stanley and the upcoming film Wicked collaborated to produce a limited-edition collection exclusively sold at Target and, according to TikTok videos, chaos ensued as customers tried to get their hands on them.

Released on October 13, the collection includes two Stanley Quenchers in 20-ounce and 40-ounce sizes. They’re inspired by the characters Glinda (Ariana Grande) and Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo)—one pink and the other green.

A TikTok from @colleenandmaurmi went viral claiming “there was nearly a brawl” as people tried to get the cups at Target before they sold out.

“They tried to grab something out of my child’s hands,” said the TikTok user.

Commenters were quick to respond.

“It’s…a cup,” said one TikToker. Some even compared the behavior to Black Friday.

Other videos showed a much calmer experience, some without lines at all.

“I can’t believe I woke up at 7am to wait in line for a cup,” said @missamander in the TikTok. After she was unable to purchase the new cups on Target’s website, she went to the store to by them in person. “It was a very nice process. Everyone was so kind.”

Wicked will be hitting theaters in the U.S. on November 22. According to a Target press release, “over 150 Wicked-inspired items” will be released at stores this fall. Some products include a special vinyl version of the soundtrack, an Elphaba Singing Doll by Mattel, and an OPI nail polish collection.
