Grandparents save everything. Just take a peek inside your nana’s pantry and you’ll likely find some freezer-burnt items dating back to the ’80s. That’s why we’re not entirely shocked at one family’s bizarre freezer discovery.

In a post that has since gone viral on Reddit, a user who goes by the name @hoop-d-lishus shared a photo of a biscuit they found in their late grandmother’s freezer. What makes the find so peculiar is that the biscuit dates back to 1940! Yes! A biscuit was just chilling (literally and figuratively) for 84 years.

Given that the biscuit appears to be in pretty pristine condition, if it weren’t for a note that revealed the date it was made, one would likely have no idea that the baked good was nearly a century old.

The family who made the find was mourning the recent loss of their 90-year-old matriarch when they stumbled upon the biscuit. They revealed to Newsweek that the discovery gave them all quite the chuckle.

“There were a lot of laughs and bewilderment,” family member Andy Wiseman shared with the publication.

And no, the family doesn’t plan on slathering the biscuit with butter and splitting it among themselves. Instead, they’ve transferred it to another member of the family’s freezer.

“The biscuit is now in my parents’ freezer for my brothers and I to deal with. Let’s just hope no one finds it during a nighttime search for an unauthorized midnight snack,” said Wiseman.
